L’Istituto Marino Permanente “G.
Vannicola” di Offida (AP) è stato pro-
prietario per oltre ottanta anni di un
immobile, adibito a colonia marina,
sito in Comune di San Benedetto del
Tronto località Porto d’Ascoli, nelle im-
mediate vicinanze dello svincolo del
raccordo autostradale Ascoli-Mare ed
a soli 200 m dalla rotonda terminale
del lungomare sud.
In questi ultimi anni è emersa la vo-
lontà di restaurare l’edificio esistente
(ex Istituto Vannicola) per destinarlo a
sede universitaria e di realizzare, nella
retrostante ed ampia area disponibile,
un complesso edilizio per accogliere
il Centro per l’Impiego con annesso
Centro Locale per la Formazione, una
sala conferenze ed altre aule univer-
sitarie.

For over eighty years, the Sea Institute “G. Vannicola”, in Offida (AP), has been the owner
of a building, used as a summer camp, located in the municipality of San Benedetto del
Tronto, near Porto d’Ascoli, very close to the motorway junction Ascoli-Mare and just 200
m from the roundabout of the southern side of the waterfront.
In recent years, they had the desire to restore the existing building (former Vannicola in-
stitute) to use it as a university as well as to build, in the wide area at the back, a building
complex to house an Employment Center with attached Local Center for Education, a
conference room and other university classrooms.
